Meet Alexis!
Now you may be thinking "Who is Alexis? Who is Zia?"
Zia means Aunt! I have been the "fun aunt" now for years and now Im welcoming you into my family as well!
( And yes, I go by either name! My family call me Zia!)
I have interests all over the board whether you like jammin' out, burning baked goods(lol), or sipping iced espresso, whatever it is I am down! I love to learn and research, which is how I got into gardening. After learning certain "natural" disasters and health issues could be avoided by simply gardening more naturally, I was hooked.
It is now my goal to have all my friends and family growing their own food! If you are reading this then I already consider you one of my friends!
My Journey!
For the last couple years, if you knew me personally you would constantly be asking "where in the world are you" because I have been farm hopping, learning all that I can to now teach you what I have learned! I have studied many different forms of gardening from conventional to organic, aeroponic(like in the photo) to hydroponic, just to name a few, but personally, I have found that organic raised bed gardens are my my favorite! Ive spent time working on farms growing food to feed hundreds, farms with chickens and cows, and a couple homesteads helping families grow!
Through this journey, I have taken multiple courses including being certified by Gardenary and ITEC. Like I have mentioned before I love to learn and research, so I have and always will be reading, conducting science experiments, and flat out growing more!
My Goals!
My goal is simple, to get you growing your own food and having fun in the process. I will have an emphasis on doing things organically, and tending to lean far from anything other than that. I will take out a lot of the guessing, googling, and back pain to help you enjoy and learn!
You might be thinking you can't do this, you even kill your fake plants! LOL Just Kidding! But Seriously, I know the feeling! That's why I am doing what I am, so that you find the knowledge, confidence and joy in garden just like I have found!
